Suicide Prevention Resources
The resources listed below were initially compiled by Heidi R. Lindeman, while she was a counseling graduate student at Regis University. Thanks to Heidi for sharing her research for us to include on the site. Over time, we have added resources that we become aware of, most recently with resources provided by Jeffco PTA. If you have one not listed, please share the information for our review.
If you are considering suicide and need support, please contact the 24/7 hotline numbers listed below. They are staffed and equipped to handle such needs. From the mother of a kid who left way too soon, please know that suicide is NOT the answer. Please reach out for help.

Many people, especially younger ones, prefer text to talking on the phone. It's a free service to anyone-- teens, adults, etc.-- who live in the US. Depression is real, you are not alone.

Below The Surface--Colorado Crisis Text Line
The Below the Surface text-line awareness campaign was created in 2017 in response to a wave of teen suicides in Colorado Springs. The National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) Colorado Springs and the Design Rangers creative strategy firm designed this series of posters, cards, stickers and other materials in consultation with eight Pikes Peak area teens. The state was so impressed by the campaign’s success, uniqueness and authenticity that it decided to invest in leveraging the group’s foundational work on a statewide basis.
