who is eligible?

Graduating seniors who are enrolled in the Gifted & Talented Center at Wheat Ridge High School are eligible for the scholarship.

Scholarship Application Process

Please write a letter, short essay or use another creative method to share the following information about yourself and your future education plans with the scholarship application reviewers. Please include an email address that you will be checking and your physical mailing address with your submission.

A prompt you may choose to use might be: "How has your time in the GT Center helped you develop these skills? Please share examples".  Please let us know many years have you been in the GT Center program at WRHS.

The reviewers will be looking for evidence of growth in the areas identified in the rubric below:

Applications for the 2025 Patrick STraut Memorial scholarships.

  • The application window for 2025 scholarships is now open and will remain open until Sunday, March 16, 2025 at midnight MT.

  • Scholarship awards will be announced at the WRHS GT Center GT Night, Saturday, May 3, 2025.

  • Recipients will need to provide a physical address as well as an email address that you are checking regularly in the spring/summer of 2025.

We don't want you to stress about this application, please just help us get to know you and how the GT Center has helped you be more successful in high school and more ready for your next steps in life.
