Scholarship Application Process

Who is Eligible?


Graduating seniors who are enrolled in the Jefferson county, CO district's Gifted & Talented Center at Wheat Ridge High School are eligible for the scholarship.


Applications are currently closed for the 2017 scholarships.

Scholarship Application Process


Please write a letter, short essay or use another creative method to share the following information about yourself and your future plans with the scholarship application reviewers.


A prompt you may choose to use might be: "How has your time in the GT Center helped you develop these skills? Please share examples".  


The reviewers will be looking for evidence of growth in the following areas:


  • Resilience
  • Creative Problem Solving
  • Autonomy
  • Self-Advocacy


Please let us know many years have you been in the GT Center program at WRHS.

Here is the rubric that our reviewers will be using to evaluate applications for the scholarship.


Responses are due on Saturday, 4/8/2017. Please email to PatrickStrautFoundation@gmail.com or arrange to deliver to Terri Taylor Straut by that date. We don't need you to stress about this application, please just help us get to know you and how the Center has helped you be more successful in high school and more ready for your next steps in life.
